Rev. Alan Gray

Pastor

Rev. Alan Gray has served as Pastor of ROPC since 1999. Alan and his wife Kelley have three children – Aidan, Collin and Lily. Before moving to Marion, Alan served for six years as an Associate Pastor for Youth and Young Families in Darnestown, Maryland. Originally from North Carolina, Alan and Kelley met while attending UNC-Chapel Hill where Aidan is now a Freshman. Kelley works as a Physical Therapist at Smyth County Community Hospital. Alan is a 1993 Graduate of Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, California (Masters of Divinity) and in May, 2016 he completed his Doctor of Ministry degree in Pastoral Theology from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary.

Amy Patton

Ministry Assistant

Judy has a bachelors and masters degree in music education and choral conducting from the University of NC at Greensboro. She was involved in music education from K – college in North Carolina, Florida and Lawrence. She was the music director for Theatre Lawrence for several years. Judy’s church experience includes being a music minister for Catholic, Baptist, Presbyterian, Episcopal and Lutheran churches at various times in her career. The all-volunteer choir is always open and would welcome you to join them as they minister to the congregation through music. Rehearsals are September through May on Thursdays from 7-8:15 p.m.

John Patton

Youth Director

Thad has been serving as GSLC’s pianist and organist since 2017. He began his musical education taking piano lessons at the age of six from a nun at Mount St. Scholastica in Atchison, KS. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music from K-State University where he studied both piano ad organ and participated in the men’s glee club. Thad also plays guitar and bass, and performs in a local band called Houseproud. During the week, Thad works at Reuter Organ Company making organ pipes and building, installing and servicing pipe organs like the Reuter organ at GSLC. When he’s not playing music, Thad enjoys grilling and smoking meat, wine tasting, and watching football, basketball and Star Trek.

Megan Ebke

Worship Leader (Worship 2.0)

Megan joined the Worship 2.0 Band in October 2015 as a vocalist. She became Worship Leader in July 2018. During her time with GSLC, she has co-written a handful of songs with songwriting partner, Travis Rigby, who previously served as Worship 2.0 Worship Leader. When she’s not organizing music, learning new songs, and leading the band, Megan is a veteran teacher in Topeka Public Schools, where she is the Teaching as a Profession instructor at the Topeka Center for Advanced Learning and Careers.
